THE SAVINGS SAFARI CLUB - A Fun and Adventurous Way to Save


About the Savings Safari Club

It is important for children of all ages to learn the fundamentals of financial management. The BUFFALO METROPOLITAN FEDERAL CREDIT UNION invites all young savers to join the Savings Safari Club; a program designed to teach today's youth the merits of saving their money. Children will build responsible, lifelong money management habits by:

Making basic financial transactions
Watching their savings grow
Receiving savings incentives
Reading about the Savings Safari Club animals


Membership Requirements

  1. The child must be related to a member.
  2. The child must be under the age of 14.
  3. A minimum of a $5 deposit is required.
  4. A Social Security Card is required to open the account.

Contests throughout the year
NEW Great Grade Award-Starting June 2005, at the end of each school year, any member who has an "A" on his/her report card will have $5.00 deposited into his/her account.

Deposit to your Savings Safari Account!

Visit BMFCU the week of April 18-24, 2010, and help us celebrate National Credit Union Youth Week! Make a deposit to your Safari Account and receive an entry to WIN a $50.00 deposit. Entrants will also have a chance to WIN $100.00 from CUNA (Credit Union National Association).

*Contest open to Savings Safari Members only. Payroll Deduction and Direct Deposit to the child’s account are not eligible entries for this drawing. A minimum deposit of $5.00 is required for entry. Safari members will fill out an entry form when they make their deposit at the teller window. Prize winners will have the money deposited into their Savings Safari Account.
